The youngest son of Donald Trump has started classes at New York University.

Former President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, officially began his freshman year at New York University (NYU) this week, as confirmed by his father during an interview with the Daily Mail. The 18-year-old is enrolled in NYU’s prestigious Stern School of Business, one of the nation’s top-ranked business programs, following months of speculation about his college choice.

“He’s incredibly gifted, but he’s no longer a child,” Donald Trump said of his son. “He’s transitioned into adulthood and is doing exceptionally well.”

Barron Trump graduated in May from Oxbridge Academy, an elite private school near the Trump family’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Now, as a freshman at NYU, he finds himself just a few miles from his childhood home in Trump Tower, where the former president still maintains a residence. It remains unclear whether Barron will live on campus or commute from home, as NYU has not released any official comment regarding his enrollment.

The Stern School of Business is located in downtown Manhattan, near the iconic Washington Square Park. The bustling area occasionally draws demonstrations, such as a pro-Palestinian protest last spring that led to arrests. In anticipation of potential unrest, the university has implemented additional security measures as the new academic year begins.

Barron is following in the academic footsteps of his family, though with a slightly different path. While three of his older siblings—Ivanka Trump, Tiffany Trump, and Donald Trump Jr.—all attended the University of Pennsylvania, Barron chose NYU instead. His father, who also attended the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, acknowledged that Barron had considered the program but ultimately opted for Stern.

“I went to Wharton, and we definitely thought about that option,” Trump shared. “But we decided on Stern, and it’s a great choice.”

As Barron embarks on this new chapter, he is poised to further the Trump family’s legacy of success, studying business in one of the most competitive programs in the country, right in the heart of New York City.
