Harris’s VP announcement is expected to include video on Tuesday.

According to those involved with the selection process, Vice President Kamala Harris is wrapping up her hurried search for a running mate. A decision is anticipated within the next 24 hours, and a video announcement is anticipated to occur on Tuesday.

Campaign sources are citing President Joe Biden’s 2020 video introduction of Harris as a likely model, even if the specifics of the launch are still unknown. They stated that their strategies could be derailed by a pick leak to the media.

The anticipated deployment will come after the much anticipated last weekend of discussions. Former Attorney General Eric Holder’s screening team briefed Harris on the approximately six finalists.

Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, Gov. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, and Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota were interviewed by Harris on Sunday at the vice president’s house in Washington. According to a source with knowledge of the selection process, Harris may have spoken virtually or may do so on Monday with other probable candidates.

The Harris campaign vetting team has also examined Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

Five days prior to the Democratic National Convention in 2020, Biden formally introduced Harris in a two-minute video that featured footage of the future president phoning Harris and pleading with her to join the ticket. The Biden campaign recognized the news through web posts, but it was first revealed by media reports the night before the video was made public.

Tuesday is Harris’s first event as her new running partner. The appearance marks the beginning of a five-day barnstorming tour that will take her to seven battleground states.
