Good morning! Are you prepared to battle crime for another day? Season 4 of The Boys, which creator Eric Kripke says would act as a prelude to the major series finale, is back. “We’re excited to announce that Season 5 of #TheBoys will be the final season during the premiere week of Season 4!” According to Kripke on X (previously Twitter). “Always my plan, I only needed to wait for Vought’s final approval before acting. Excited to bring the tale to a bloody, dramatic, and luscious conclusion. Watch Season 4 within the next two days, as the finale is near.
Entertainment Weekly reports that two superheroes from the most recent spin-off, Gen V, will be joining the oppressive group led by Anthony Starr in Homelander this time around. In season four, the superhuman Sam Riordan (Asa Germann) and the mind-controlling Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips) will be the evil Superman’s new students, joining him in his quest for even greater power.
As viewers of the show may remember, the season one finales of Gen V and The Boys both included two significant surprises. Initially, it was disclosed on The Boys that Claudia Doumit’s character, Victoria Neuman, was collaborating with Homelander to gain access to the Oval Office. She then succeeded in obtaining a fatal virus on Gen V that kills anyone with superpowers. Given how quickly her character is developing in season 4, Neuman will probably play a significant adversary role, especially because the new storyline centers on the impending election. The coupling will work well as America revs up its own presidential election campaign this summer, following Homelander’s Trumpian moment in season 3.
With regard to The Boys season 4, Kripke told Reuters, “It very nicely holds up a mirror to where we are right now.” “I believe the show is attempting to convey the idea that there is extreme division, a sense of “we versus them,” demonization of the opposition, and the idea that there can only be one winner and one loser.”
Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie Cambell (Jack Quaid), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), and the rest of the Boys gang are on the other side of the battle, and they think they’re the only ones who can stop Homelander by any means necessary. In an unexpected Gen V cameo last fall, Butcher said, “Insanely desperate’s where we are.” His ambition for a superhero genocide is rekindled now that he is aware that a specific virus may kill superheroes.
