Following Thursday’s heavy storms, Houston and the surrounding areas are beginning to recover, and CenterPoint Energy is keeping up its continued efforts to restore power.
The firm stated in a news statement that personnel are at work and hope to finish the restoration for clients who are available for service by Wednesday.
The business reported that 2.3 million customers, or 82% of them, had their power restored at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Sallie Alcorn, a council member, reports that 140,000 customers’ electricity was restored on Friday night.
With temperatures in Houston predicted to soar into the mid- to upper-90s this weekend, the remedy arrived just in time.
The hardest-hit CenterPoint Energy regions include Bellaire, Cypress, Baytown, Greenspoint, Humble, and Spring Branch. According to the company, localized restoration updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

To continue the restoration project, CenterPoint reported that over 2,200 line workers and vegetation specialists arrived late Friday evening.
