Reversing her promise to supporting Donald Trump should he win the GOP nomination is Nikki Haley.

Nikki Haley, a Republican running for president, says she no longer feels obligated to support former President Donald Trump should he win the party’s nomination.

The former governor of South Carolina stated in an interview that aired on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that “the RNC is now not the same RNC.” “I’ll decide what I want to decide.”

Haley’s position differs from her previous commitment to back the Republican nominee. To participate in the primary debate, contestants had to sign a loyalty pledge mandated by the RNC. Trump did not take part in any of the debates and refuses to sign.

Haley was one of the few contenders who declared they would support Trump if he became the Republican nominee, even if he was found guilty of a crime, during the first GOP debate.

Haley’s remarks against the RNC come after some of its elected officials, including outgoing chair Ronna McDaniel, resigned last week.

In order to assist elect Republicans across the board, Trump is attempting to place his daughter-in-law, a key campaign advisor, and the leader of the North Carolina Republican Party at the head of the committee. Amidst the contentious presidential primary, Haley has said that Trump is attempting to utilize the national party as a “slush fund” for his campaign.

In order to stay in the Republican race, Haley, who has yet to win a single election, is depending on a strong performance on Super Tuesday.
Regarding her intentions in the event that she withdraws, she has been ambiguous. At a roundtable with reporters on Friday, the former UN ambassador said that her campaign was not “anti-Trump.” However, the same day, she made the declaration in a taped NBC News interview that she no longer felt obligated to back the Republican nominee if it is not her.

Haley stated to reporters on Friday morning that the goal of her campaign was to revive Republican principles like budgetary restraint and the development of a newer generation of conservative leaders.

“I’m not anti-Trump,” Haley declared in front of the USA TODAY reporters present at the press roundtable. This has to do with my belief that America is superior to this. Furthermore, I believe that the Republican Party is capable of more and that we are superior than this.

Haley said, “It’s not something I think about,” when Kristen Welker of “Meet the Press” asked her directly if she had given up on the idea of backing him.

“Talking about an endorsement is like to talking about a loss. That’s not how I think,” she remarked. “You don’t consider losing when you’re competing. You consider carrying ahead with your plans. What I can say is that, in my opinion, neither Donald Trump nor Joe Bidden should be president,”
